This Skype situation makes me feel stuck with it. Not because I want to advocate Microsoft’s behavior, but because, like most services, my group of friends all use it and is generally not interested in trying anything else. What am I to do? Just move on without them? Surely I can’t leave Skype without also leaving Google, because they participate in other not-very-nice practices? Twitter? If I got serious about privacy, what's left for me to feel comfortable with?
