This Day Aria is probably my favourite song from the show because compositionally it's incredibly clever. Daniel Ingram uses a Ab - Db chord progression during the parts where the real Cadence is singing, and musically this is known as an Authentic Candence (I - V chord progression). At the end, when Chrysalis is singing it goes from Ab - Bb, and since it's the relative minor this type of Deceptive Cadence.
