I'm not sure if I'll ever speak with 60% of my friends or 40% of my family after this year. I've got half-Mexican, Neo-Nazi cousins (f*** me). Friends who think it's hawt when their wives make out with other women from church, but who will vote not to allow my brother to marry his (also male) fiancee. That isn't "politics" tearing apart a friendship. It's the fact that you actively deny the humanity of my loved ones, and take part in steps to harm them, all for your personal (stock portfolio) gain or personal (religious belief based) Feeeeeeelllllllllssss... Wish I believed in Hell so these bastarding bastarded-out bastards could go there!!

@mrmattimation Yeah, but I'm not really concerned about the historicity of the GOP, though. This jackass may be lower than other old white jackasses have been, but when 50% can agree, even in a straw poll, with (vague sweeping arm gesture)? It's more the revelations about the national psyche than it is old stats and current prognostications. I just grew up inherently skeptical of The System, but still -- I used to be able to believe in People, as a whole. This administration has shattered my faith in anything other than entropy. I always kind of knew I was "Brown eyes watching from a White perspective," but the other white faces used to only sometimes let their hatred show. Now, they seem to be hiding even their former pretense of humanity in favor of letting their hate flag take full mast. And... damn, man. Just... damn. I want it over. And I'm almost ashamed of what I'd be willing to do to End it, capital-E.

@adiwan Definitely agree on the sarcasm mark being needed. And I actually really like Spanish's leading punctuation, it always seemed weird how English has it at the end to tell you what you should have been doing instead of telling you ahead what to do.

The new Kermit performer, Matt Vogel, sounds kind of like Kermit is losing his frog accent. Like how Arnold Schwarzenegger needs a speech coach to keep his signature accent after being in the States. Only Kermit's losing his. It doesn't *feel* like "not-Kermit" at all, but it is definitely different and new.
