@lg@micro.fragdev.com I love your #rantings, please continue. Therefore extra here: the problem which made you !not run your own #statusnet anymore was not the #dataPortability bug in the first place (that's what the sheep need because they don't (want to, can't) run their own instances). I would relate the failure of SN more to: "A #design goal of #GNUSocial is that the basic Web functionality should work on even the most #restrictive commercial hosting services." (1) But @mmn is working on improving that too: somewhat #poorman (1) or search for: #opportunistic queue manager. @erkanyilmaz I don't know I'll do that again with #statusnet / #gnusocial . I've lost interest.

each time I click and add an old contact, I shake my head, finding it difficult to believe that the #fsf endorsed these locked-in sites! #StatusNet #GNUSocial

currently: the majority of the reports (1) (2) (3) as well as bug reports, e.g. (4) is only one, indicate #statusnet / #gnusocial fails with #dataportability. The only system I know supporting and working successfully is !friendica. #pump.io doesn't offer this (as well as deleting one's account). They may be constructive. We know @even-v4 wasn't listening. We expect that !gnusocial is listening.

someone asked me: "So, in the end, do you prever #GnuSocial or #friendica?" quote: "well, currently I need only SN. There are advantages to friendica which I don't need or pump.io. So, when friendica fixes the !ostatus (after releasing version 3.2) you can definitely also use friendica. There are e.g. more friendica #devs than for SN, back at identi.ca times: the commits in friendica were much much more frequent"
