That's the idea. As far as I know, SLC gets blocked for political reasons but are too fervent in our support for freedoms to return the favour. Aha. But yeah, at worst we'll end up insulting each other... but at least it'll still be communicating. So there is a chance for that. -

Yeah, it is difficult to know because I've joined multiple instances since. I won't say that you absolutely wouldn't bump into people like you mentioned but I don't think that represents the people that remained behind after the waves. At least that hasn't been my experience with them. They are quite fun to be around, and we've had a few waves. Oh yeah, it helps to find something in common with people... that is when it can get more enjoyable.
I have to admit, it can be difficult to alter your opinion of an instance once you've been burned. I really did want to move on when it came to mastodon, because I realise that likely the people who burned me there are no longer about. But it's hard because it doesn't seem like things have improved, and they still push the slant they did before. -

Um... you're not going to like me much because I am a part of SLC, that was my first instance and I mod there. Sucks to hear that you had that experience with our users though. We do have some interesting people that come to our instance, it really does attract all sorts of people who are opinionated. Although I think that things have calmed down a lot lately... most people have gone, and I think we have a bit of fun from time to time. -

@sim unless someone comes right off saying their political alignment I at least have a hard time reading it. Up to the point one starts speaking in absolutes. Far as clever goes... @mrmattimation is a great cartoonist (maybe you've already seen/heard of his studio's work), @tiffany is an articulate cuck for the ages, and I make bad puns with the occasional dad-tier joke.
