  3. @toksyuryel Surprised you think so. I was just assuming it was cause I've listened to that particular song so much that I've gotten use to teh wubs. xD

  4. @toksyuryel http://youtu.be/tLojc_YtPm0 This is like the only dubstep song my ears won't explode to. I honestly don't know why cause to me it sounds like any other dubstep. I really like this one though *shrug*. The rest make me not want to listen to the songs. xD

  5. @toksyuryel Either way though that's still a dumb idea.

  14. @toksyuryel You misspelled a word and used bold where it was only annoying. Your argument is forever invalidated. c:

  15. @minti We'll go for the tl;dr version. Drama and bananasfests started to rise again. Mods and users can't get along, a mods authority was starting to mean nothing to people. @toksyuryel brought on some valid points and the community wanted to rules to be tighter and less open to confusion and manipulation and in the process, a site staff's word is final. There is no arguing on the site about it.

  16. @toksyuryel I'd agree that Javascript has _a lot_ of cruft, but the core is actually a very good language. And for what it's worth, the Node documentation makes at least a token effort to steer people away from using the cruftier bits in their Node apps.

  17. @toksyuryel I have to admit, though, I do like this post of his: http://teddziuba.com/2011/07/the-craigslist-reverse-programmer-troll.html

  18. @toksyuryel Why? If it's on performance merits, then given V8's speed, Python and Ruby should suffer the same criticism; but they don't. If it's on the qualities of the language itself, that's massively subjective, and should really be left out of posts that recommend for/against something on a purportedly factual level.

  19. @toksyuryel Well it's compiled into bytecode, cause it uses V8. So it's basically the same as any other language. The real caveat though as far as I'm concerned is that the http server itself is written in node, and not delegated to apache or something, Although you could probably set up some complicated thing to get around that. xD

  20. @toksyuryel Oh, and just to round this off, he's also a hypocrite. From his third-most-recent post at the moment: "Every time you post benchmarks, you're not moving any discussion forward. When you compare web frameworks on one useless dimension or another, you don't bring any value to the world." (http://teddziuba.com/2011/11/dirty-words.html)

  21. @toksyuryel Also, I really don't like his condescending tone. Which, last I checked, is pretty much a constant across everything he posts.

  22. @toksyuryel To respond on his own level: Ted Dziuba is cancer. "Hey, they say this thing scales pretty well, but look, if I make it do a long-running computation without putting it in a callback as any non-braindead Node coder would, it goes slow. Therefore it's terrible."

  23. @toksyuryel For something to do that's fun, I see no problem with using node, considering things you do for fun shouldn't usually drive you insane. XD

  26. @hakupony @woona @toksyuryel Thank you for your thoughts and opinions. It feels a little like a big pink elephant in the room that nopony wants to (or is allowed to) acknowledge. I'm just a little tense about it. What happened, happened because I underestimated how strongly ponies feel about that sort of thing, and RDN is not the place for that. I've obviously come to terms with it myself, but, except for a few places online, I'm still very isolated in what I deal with. I hoped that I wouldn't have to be so alone, but, at the same time, I approached opening up about it the wrong way here and it caused problems. I'm sorry for that. ( You too @ceruleanspark & @redenchilada )

  27. @toksyuryel I don't play the game through again, I make the choices based on what I would honestly do. So I never saw that, but I honestly felt the lack of inspirational music was it's biggest down fall The fights had no emotion to them.. it felt like I was dragging my feet.
