@mrmattimation There are lots of hard working people who go to work and help others every day. but when the whole edifice of their organization is shown to be rotten something must give (and its not just cops, its the Vatican, Secret service officials, even British MP's at the ,moment)

@companionanne @mrmattimation I know that. But the system of one group having power over another group will allways lead to massive abuse. and Its cops that have that power. Its world Wide and not just some NYCPD drone.

@mrmattimation No one group is placed there by a history of oppression and economic circumstance. The other is placed in a position of power. This mangoes will happen.

I assumed the point was that to deem anyone who chooses to be a cop a racist asshole or whatever is wrong. That being said it's pretty okay to consider the collective police force corrupt and terrible

@mrmattimation Cops make a choice to be cops. People do not make a choice to be in a minority.
The fist job of any police force is the upholding of the rules made by those in power. A cops job is too keep society as it is. For good and for ill.
Coincidentally any group given that sort of power is prone to corruption and abuse, and this has its greatest expression in cops (and maybe bankers)
Hating and being distrust of cops is not bigotry is hatred of those in power. -

@nerthos Im as bad online as off, so not much to do. Sometimes I think of going to church.

@nerthos Thursdays are fine because work. Sundays are awful because no one is about. Just rattling around at home. cooking is pointless alone (yay beans!) allways feel I should use it more productively.
