      • Virginia’s always a super interesting case when ur comes to elections these days because most moderate/centrist voters in this state like Republicans but HATE Trump, so basically every election we’ve seen in this state since 2016 has seen Democratic candidates SUPER over-perform the local partisan lean because the Republican candidates all keep aligning themselves with Trump because he’s, you know, the President.

Please tell me that Julian Castro going after Biden was one of the more interesting/memorable takeaways from that thing so I can just go watch a supercut somewhere or something.

                                • Somebody emailed me a petition today make 9/11 into a federal holiday, and like, I’m all for another excuse to be making holiday overtime, but like, as of today you have this situation where you have legal adults who were not yet born when 9/11 happened. I don’t even remember it, I was 4 when it happened. A lot of us have kids of our own now, and it’s likely that they won’t even be taught about 9/11 in history classes like I was, except as a precursory event to a larger Middle East conflict that dominated Bush’s second term. If you lost loved ones or lived in New York or DC, or worked for the government at the time, then yeah. Mourn. Memorialize. Do whatever you gotta do. But everyone else moved on. It doesn’t need to be a federal holiday.

                                  • I feel like people in America are using 2018 as a baseline for how politicians should be performing in elections, when really they should be using more average years like 2012 or 2016. The special election in North Carolina is a “disappointment” when you compare it to 2018, a Democratic wave year, but is a 10 point(!) difference compared to both 2016 and 2012. A national 10-point difference compared to 2016 puts Trump in the doghouse.

                                    • That’s a... work in progress. IMO older GTAs are borderline unplayable on kbm, but of course it’s more precise so speedrunning is more optimal like that.

                                      • I don't quite get speedrunning time standards. Most seem to start once you gain control of the player character. Some start at "press start" and clock through the intro and setup, and I saw one that was from console power on! Or, I think I did, anyway. It's all been background while I fail to search for a job while I work on NESmaker, lol

It's fun, and I like the " official embrace" of the fandom. But some of the styles are jarring. Then again, at least one of the shifts is pretty subtle and artsy, though maybe by accident? Anyway, Dame Judi Brunch is 11/10.

                                        • @scribus Never sawr it. In general fan animations of established TV shows tend to irk me because the animators working on them usually neglect the nuances of the show’s visual style (South Park fanartists, for example, stop at “crappy” animation, but they don’t realize that it’s a certain KIND of crappy). The Bob’s Burgers-Archer one was fun though, I enjoyed that one.
