@critialcloudkicker Wine offers an "Internet Explorer". But it's more like an open source browser that acts like the IE for compatibility reasons.

@critialcloudkicker There are Linux AV programs like Clam AV but they scan for Windows viruses. I think that Kaspersky offers an AV for Linux. But yet again it is intended for (mail) servers to scan for Windows viruses.

@critialcloudkicker I use my Linux system for all the browsing and sensitive data. So I'll be less affected by those hijacks.

@critialcloudkicker Browser Firefox. No antivirus. Antivirus programs slow down the PC, break programs or the OS sometimes, and it is snakeoil. Antivirus programs don't work by default. If they solve the "Halt Problem" it would be worth installing it... but noone can solve this so far.

WAT... The mainboard driver CD wanted to install Google Chrome and the Google Toolbar and Norton Anti Virus by default?!? Not on my watch.

A BIOS that can be used with a mouse?!? I feel like in the early 90s when I had a PC with mouse support for the BIOS. The BIOS back then had also icons.

Stupid internal card reader. I forgot that it makes always trouble on a new system. It acts like a boss and blocks everything. When everything is installed it works perfectly fine.

@redenchilada My local comic shop is quite different. They have mostly cheap prices and the store looks like a wasteland: Dark, small, not a lot space to walk in, everything unordered, a table where the owner and the employee plays Magic cards (or other games) with the customers.

@critialcloudkicker The dub was pretty good. Pontius Pilatus had a problem pronouncing the "b" such that it ended up as a "p". A classic.

@critialcloudkicker Best scene in cinematic history. In the German dub Biggus Dickus was named "Schwanzus Longus", which means pretty much the same as in the original.

@critialcloudkicker I knew that it was available online. My supervisor showed me that paper on the PC first when we were talking about a project for this semester.

@critialcloudkicker I read http://www.vis.uni-stuttgart.de/~weiskopf/publications/vast12_eyetracking.pdf I got a printed copy from my supervisor. The computer graphics department's printer just sucks ass.

I hate blurry printed text. I rather read the scientific papers on screen than on paper. Also there are some images that are so tiny on paper that I can't see anything. The people who research on visualization do a very poor job doing so in their own papers.

Reading a scientific paper about a user study in visualization is so boooring. Half of it was repeating itself over three times and listing boring experimental environment stuff.

@critialcloudkicker I'm sticking to my own method using benzol in this case when I know it doesn't damage the plastic.

@critialcloudkicker The what method? First I try to peel it off very gently but this was so old and dry that all the glue stuck on the case. I had to use benzol to remove it.

Isn't now the best time to buy a Halloween costume for next year? Halloween is over and I bet that there are a lot of accessories for a bargain price. Who doesn't want to have a dozed "Sexy <insert any object, profession, real person or fictional character>" costume for the price of one before Halloween? Hahahaha

I find it always funny to see people in films using the smartphone to call others. Not because they are using a phone as intended. I laugh because they always use the photo app to simulate a phone call and I can sometimes see that the actors accidentally closed the application or the phone rotates the picture.

I sent an email to the tumblr support to disable autoplay and autoloop on videos. A minute later I received a response that they thank me for my suggestion. They didn't have to thank me if they haven't f***ed up the video player.

@mushi There are a lot of hacking guides (videos) for the Wii U and they claim that it works. I can completely understand that you don't want to void the warranty for your relatively new console. An old wii might be actually cheaper.
