I personally prefer Arch Linux. It's a Linux distribution more tailored towards tech-savvy control freaks like me than most Linux distributions nowadays (most, like Ubuntu and Linux Mint for example, are meant to be simple and to run out of the box). I prefer it because it literally allows me to tweak it so much and it just assumes I know what I'm doing (which is also risky at times, but if I kill something that's my own fault). I'm having a lot of Firefox crashing issues as well. Firefox used to be better, but Chromium (I use the Open Source version of Chrome, it doesn't have the tracking elements in it AFAIK) has improved and surpassed Firefox.
