@withdrawl Kami isn't really a "god" figure as much as a "life force" or sorts found in nature, animals, the universe, etc. But kami can exist in anything animate or inanimate, so if anything it's almost like a more spiritual version of Plato's Theory of Forms when you really think about it.

@withdrawl Probably, since she would be addressing a specific deity and not be talking about an abstract concept (sort of like God or gods in English, but there's no actual way in English to properly describe 神)

@withdrawl Wouldn't surprise me. Ghost in the Shell has influenced a lot of sci-fi shows and films, animated or otherwise. I mention The Matrix because The Wachowskis have specifically mentioned it

@withdrawl Yeah, the original films and Stand Alone Complex are all really incredible. Arise is decent but not quite as good as the rest of the franchise.
