  7. @withdrawl Sort of, though Shinto is considerably less concerned with altered consciousness and divination.

  8. @withdrawl Kami isn't really a "god" figure as much as a "life force" or sorts found in nature, animals, the universe, etc. But kami can exist in anything animate or inanimate, so if anything it's almost like a more spiritual version of Plato's Theory of Forms when you really think about it.

  9. @withdrawl Probably, since she would be addressing a specific deity and not be talking about an abstract concept (sort of like God or gods in English, but there's no actual way in English to properly describe 神)

  10. @withdrawl You can't just have ONE AIC song. C'mon, man.

  11. @withdrawl Or I guess a more literal translation including the 様 (sama) honourific would be 私は神様です

  12. @withdrawl I believe the proper way to write it would be 私は神です

  14. @withdrawl Politeness is always useful. If you have the patience, it's the best way to go about it

  15. @withdrawl Probably, but I don't know enough to really say so

  18. @withdrawl Yeah, you distance yourself, that much is true. You stop being in the middle of the crowd, and instead stand on the side, watching the crowd move, walking freely to each side.

  19. @withdrawl You should know by now that we're all connected to The Wired

  20. @withdrawl You seem human enough to me, for whatever that's worth.

  21. @withdrawl That's the human condition for you. I guess we've had different experiences though, and I can only speak from my own. I guess I really do value my humanity a lot.

  22. @withdrawl Five years ago you were like 25, 10 years ago I was 12. That's the difference on how much each enjoyed it.

  23. @withdrawl I guess at least having something to break in the first place is better than having nothing at all to break, no?

  24. @withdrawl I should watch it again. I watched it like... over 10 years ago I think? on TV.

  25. Ask me the same question in a few days I'll probably say, 'boy I wish I was back in it so I'd have a reason to shut down'.

  27. @withdrawl It's a shame they did that tasteless and awful live action adaptation

  28. @withdrawl Wouldn't surprise me. Ghost in the Shell has influenced a lot of sci-fi shows and films, animated or otherwise. I mention The Matrix because The Wachowskis have specifically mentioned it

  30. @withdrawl Yeah, the original films and Stand Alone Complex are all really incredible. Arise is decent but not quite as good as the rest of the franchise.
