  6. @adiwan as a coffee-addict it seems cream in tea is furthermore a blaspheme to me.

  7. A woman walks up to a bar. The bartender asks her what she wants, and she says "I want a good double-entendre". So he gave it to her.

  12. @scribus well maybe the problem is thinking it'd be fulfilling with jumping in to it without prior formal ties to it.

  20. @vriska certainly neater than Newspeak ever was to me although not fair to even compare the two.

  21. I fear this job has almost dashed my once flowing passion for linguistics just as auto repair nearly did so for my mechanical aptitude.

  22. @vriska up til the day I left the States I guess I kind of did the same thing, albeit not as much by choice. The familiarity of the words mixed thoroughly with accent in the film intrigued me; the wording, spelling and extension of use in the book fascinated me.

  23. @vriska the first time I saw A Clockwork Orange really threw me for a loop with the nadsat parlance.

  27. I also learned a hell of a lot about Polk County Wisconsin. When school is done I might just move to Taylors Falls MN, or across the river. Definitely has become my favourite part of this country to be in.

  29. Well my blisters healed and it doesn't hurt to walk up or down stairs any more. Still got some soreness in my shoulders. That pack must not be adjusted to the perfect way, either that or the ~40lbs was too much for the mileage.

  30. @mrmattimation Men who beat their loved ones are the worst sort of pondscum. That being said I can't blame you for not doing something, especially since there are so many variables in this sort of thing for an outsider to invite their way in.
