@awl They have a wide range of parts on store to choose from when buying a bike, which is certainly nice. Seven or so "standard" handlebar options on the wall, three or so different tanks, and so on.

@awl Yeah. Their stuff is a bit more expensive than mass-produced models, but the availability of spare parts, customization, and having repairs done by the guys who designed and built the stuff makes up for it. The guy also explained the reason my dad and I were seeing so many people with cheap scooters/low cc bikes without lights: there seems to be a trend for crappily done electrical installations on the cheap bikes. Which made me consider setting up a small workshop at home fixing said electrical stuff, which requires knowledge I already have and a minimal investment to start.

@awl Yeah. I've digged through story on the other one and even though they used to make really high quality stuff, whilst they remain decent today, quality has gone down a bit since the original owner died.

@awl Yeah. We ended up talking about industry and stuff, the guy turned out to be a nationalist, and he went around the city making arrangements to have almost all the pieces for the bikes built around town. He then started designing the bikes and building different models in sort of an evolution ladder until he built models that were up to all regulations.
