  1. @toksyuryel Well, the messy approach would be to have each segment be linked to a set of logic gates that implement tests (like, top segment on if the total can't be 1 or 4), but I'm sure there's a more compact, albeit probably less intuitive, approach.

  3. @ceruleanspark I like how an image link of any form isn't permissible either.

  4. @toksyuryel Neh, it's not really something I need or want, it was just an idea I was entertaining temporarily. I have plenty enough redstone for my more normal projects. :)

  5. @mushi You're right, that is kinda weird. Well, not for RPGs, that's kinda the norm. But still weird once you stop to think about it.

  6. @mushi ?

  7. @toksyuryel Considering how much free space there is in that chasm under my house, I have been pondering making a huge binary counter array to see how many times my doors have been toggled since I was last on. That'd need far more redstone than I have, though. :P

  8. @ceruleanspark I wonder how many levels of indirection they still consider to be a link? 'cos right now I have a link from my reblog to your original post, which in turn links to the ponyspin page, which in turn links to them. :D

  9. @toksyuryel The D is super-neat too, but like you said, _way_ more complicated than my doors need. :)

  10. @ceruleanspark That page is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

Saturday, 14-Jul-12 20:26:33 UTC from web in context
  11. @toksyuryel 'course, it makes the whole design _longer_, but when there are several points in it where the redstone can go around a corner without issues, that's no big problem.

  12. @toksyuryel Also, turning the piston on its side reduces the gravity delay (no need for sand/gravel any more) _and_ stops it turning into a bud switch. :P

  13. @thelastgherkin That's not blush, it's pink that wasn't completely covered up.

  14. @toksyuryel Heh, it's actually pretty amazing how resilient that T Flip-Flop design is to turning at various points. Kinda annoying that it requires a slime ball for the sticky piston (only needing the regular sort was one plus of the bulky design I used before), but it's pretty nice to have it take less space _and_ operate near-instantly (give or take server-side lag).

  27. @scribble Eh, it still looks just fine. More a point to consider if you want, not something it needs. :)

  28. @scribble It's pretty cool, but if you're going for total accuracy, the PipBoy(/Buck) UI has one solid shape for the character - so for example, no dividing line between body and leg or at the point where the two legs intersect.
