  1. I like that literally every argument on tumblr /has/ to contain "Your point is invalid because you're a white person", sometimes /completely irrespective of the targets actual race/

  2. @thelastgherkin Too far.

  5. @scoot Here's a fun project. Go to notalwaysright.com, look at the page. Disable adblock and refresh.

  6. @scoot Especially considering that it's quite clearly disabled in the picture

  7. @mrmattimation Did those games actually run well on "typical" PCs at the time? I know I can install them on my cellphone now, but I have no memory of what was going on with them then

  8. @thelastgherkin Hi, I'm Reggie Fils Men or whatever my name is and I'd like to hire you to work on our Wind Waker HD team.

  9. @nerthos Yeah but at the time they were making top down 2D games which used about 1mb of texture memory.

  10. @snowcone To be honest, a more accurate comparison than "GTA with hacking" is "Assassins Creed with Cars".

Wednesday, 04-Jun-14 12:04:46 UTC from web in context
  11. @mrmattimation Based on GTAIV, they'll port it, but you'll need the MAGI system to actually play it.

Wednesday, 04-Jun-14 12:04:12 UTC from web in context
  12. @mrmattimation They're just as terrible, but in a different way. They're doing a Dark Souls type persistently connected multiplayer world thing, so your single player experience is constantly being interrupted by "Connection lost" messages. On the other hand, it's all ad-hoc match making, so it's a lot faster than the GTA "Stare at a loading screen for 10 minutes then get kicked due to a network error" model.

  13. /Even if you were winning/ when they disconnected you.

Wednesday, 04-Jun-14 12:00:23 UTC from web
  14. @snowcone They're very slow, and frequently just drop out altogether mid game...which would be fine, but the game penalises you for "disconnecting" by removing a bunch of exp every time it happens.

  15. @snowcone The best thing about Watch Dogs is the multiplayer, and that doesn't seem like it's gonna last, as people lose interest and Ubisofts terrible servers don't help. Having a running hacker/parkour street race/gun battle at top speed through the city is stupidly fun.

  16. @snowcone Also it subverts gender roles by having the male of the species learn a support based moveset and the female learn the offensive ones.

  17. @snowcone Espurr is adorable

  19. @nerthos I'm afraid that consequences will /never/ be the same. Euphoria: Not even once.

  20. @nerthos Sir I am an officer of the Cyber Police

  21. @nerthos Sir are you aware of how euphoric you're being?

  22. @pony It's like Democracy.

Wednesday, 04-Jun-14 10:06:58 UTC from web in context
  23. @pony It's a terrible system, but it's probably the best that can be achieved for the largest group of people.

Wednesday, 04-Jun-14 10:05:52 UTC from web in context
  24. @pony Tumblr will shut down more or less anything if they get enough complaints about it. If they were wrong, well...that person can always start another blog, can't they? What are they going to do? leave?

  25. @metaltao Jailbait ran for /years/ without anyone caring in the slightest. It was only under massive media pressure and acting against the masses of people on reddit /actively defending it/ that the admins caved and killed the subredit. Then there was Creepshots, a board devoted to taking pictures (usually of a private nature) of women without them knowing about it. The infamous "/r/picturesofdeadkids" subreddit doesn't really need any further explanation and there are hundreds, if not thousands more.

  26. Of course the hilarious thing is that Reddit commits more crimes than 4chan does but everyone thinks of them as virtuous because they occasionally undertake charitable actions.
