  12. @widget Since I'm nice, I've iterated downwards through values for binlog_cache_size to avoid using excessive memory. It's currently set to 4M, which seems a reasonable amount.

  13. @widget /tmp/ kept filling up. I managed to track down the problem though. MySQL's binlog_cache_size defaults to only 32kb, with any overflow being written to disk, then deleted: However, the deleted files aren't removed from the disk until the connection is cleanly closed by mysql (IE, never). I have edited binlog_cache_size to 500M in my.cnf and /tmp/ is no longer filling up.
