Back from my nap. How's everypony?
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:11:58 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@pinhooves Thinking of going somewhere else for the night, it would mean I get away from other negative influences for lack of a better description. But I would be without Internet.....
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:15:13 UTC from web -
@pinhooves I just got myself a fancy new phone, so I'm doing great!
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:18:00 UTC from StatusNet Android-
@redenchilada Oooh, what kind?
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:22:22 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@pinhooves A Samsung Galaxy SII.

@redenchilada Press Power + Home. I have the phone, had it for 10 months now, ask me anything
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:33:38 UTC from web-
@cavatina Note: this is not standard android behaviour. Samsung added it.
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:34:17 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark I know it is. But on the S2, and the Ace, it works. So no, he doesnt need a 3rd Party app. in the ICS build i use, its de-facto for all phones.
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:35:06 UTC from web-
@cavatina It's not in AOSP, so ON A PURELY PEDANTIC TECHNICAL LEVEL it is in a 3rd party app.
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:35:49 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark It is AOSP on ICS though, which is gonna be on the European S2 at the end of march :3 (@redenchilada, if you have the I9100, you will get Ice Cream Sandwich in a month!)
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:36:53 UTC from web-
@cavatina >End of march. Have samsung ever actually MET one of those estimates? Plus, then carrier testing.
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:37:35 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark Actualllyyy, the ICS rom i'm on is in RC2 status, so it looks like its gonna be done in time. I get the updates regardless of carrier cause i update right from samsung themself, not through Kies. :3
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:38:49 UTC from web-
@cavatina WE'LL SEE WON'T WE

@cavatina hey, so is there a way to easily uninstall the preinstalled apps like the Talk app?
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:39:02 UTC from web-
@pony Unless you are rooted, no.
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:39:25 UTC from web-
@cavatina is it worth rooting my phone?
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:40:06 UTC from web-
@pony Hell yeah, but say bai to warranty.
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:40:32 UTC from web-
@cavatina @ceruleanspark bah! Why?! when will they learn?...
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:41:25 UTC from web-
@pony why on earth do you want to uninstall it btw? if you disable sign in, it never ever loads.
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:42:30 UTC from web-
@cavatina just cause I never use it. Imo is a much better app in my opinion (no pun intended). There are other apps installed by my carrier that i can't get rid of and would like to.. like VCast Media, etc
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:44:50 UTC from web-
@pony Thos carrier apps can be removed easily with root, just dont worry about gtalk, just disable it from logging in automatically~
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:45:23 UTC from web-
@cavatina Hah. Preinstalled, unremovable apps. Peasants.
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:46:15 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark I'll have you know mine came with 1 Pre-installed app that actually isnt part of the TouchWiz overlay (the 4 touchwiz ones i removed because i dont need em), and it was the iPlayer, something useful to me. it's the US that has the bloatware bad, not us. at least on o2. I only removed the apps that i did cause i already use different services for these tasks, to someone else, they might have been useful. Other "Bloat" was a useful voice recorder, memo app (very nice), Photo and Video editor. That was it. Those apps i kept, cause i used them kinda often. So Nyeh :3 and i can remove them easily if i want, i'm not a fool, the rom i run on my phone, i compiled myself X3
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:48:29 UTC from web-
@cavatina thanks again! btw.. I've been wondering about how/whether I should use iTunes to purchase the MLP videos and download them to my phone. First, do you know a free app for itunes?
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:52:36 UTC from web-
@pony Free app for itunes? I'm not sure what you mean...you mean a syncing thing for android?
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:53:44 UTC from web-
@cavatina well.. in the Android app store I've come across free synching software, but I was under the impression that those apps only allowed me to download songs I've already purchased, not purchase new ones from the iTunes store. Is that all they do?
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:56:13 UTC from web-
@pony Oh no, you cant do ANYTHING with itunes at all on android, sorry to say~ You can load your purchases just fine, but the store is off limits. Reccomendation btw, give double twist a try. Desktop + Android companion app, its iTunes for android.
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:57:12 UTC from web-
@cavatina sweet! that looks like a great app. the desktop companion is for synching i take it?
Friday, 24-Feb-12 19:00:21 UTC from web-
@pony Yush :3 I dont use it, i just copy files accross manually, i prefer doing it like that, but it works great ^.^
Friday, 24-Feb-12 19:02:41 UTC from web-
@cavatina awesome! And my next question.. you may have just answered it.. I've been searching for a media player that plays both videos and mp3s, can easily create and manage local playlists, and will continue to let me adjust volume and play while my phone's screen is off like the phone's default app.
Friday, 24-Feb-12 19:07:24 UTC from web-
@pony mixzing media player

@ceruleanspark Windows Phone has bloatware stateside too btw =P
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:49:43 UTC from web-
@cavatina You can't make an app un-uninstallable in WP7. The API doesn't let you.
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:50:13 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark I guess, but still. Android bloatware goes in the "System" folder stateside, over here it goes in the "Data" folder, where its deleteable. X3
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:50:58 UTC from web-
@cavatina Sometimes it goes in System here. Motorola puts all their crap in system.
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:51:28 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark Oh god yeah...HTC too actually, (HTC are some of the worst, my dad was papayased with how much stuff HTC let vodafone put on his Sensation, he has only opened one of the apps, and that was to see what it was.)

@pony Also for some assinine reason, Market Authentication is intertwined with the talk app. You uninstall talk, you break market

@redenchilada ah yeah.. I haven't bothered with that on mine actually... though for some reason I have random screen caps in my media folder. It's so wierd.. I must have accidentally triggered a built in screen capture function or something. It's happened twice now... I'mma look up stuff brb

@pinhooves which reminds me, question pinny! On your pictures of the other rdn OCs, how do you et them so neat? How do you get the colour right up to the outlines without creating jagged edges? I use the select tool in paint tool Sai to go over my outlines on paper, before I layer colour on them
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:32:49 UTC from web-
@purplephish20 I use a graphics tablet pen and just colour it in with the paint brush.
Friday, 24-Feb-12 18:33:51 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@pinhooves The brush tool? I use bucket I think..... I'll try, I'll have a lot of time to figure it out tonight
