@northernnarwhal I bought three Adventure Time pop vinyl figures. (≧◡≦)
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:24:53 UTC from web-
@theyurityphoon Which characters?
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:27:33 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal Princess Bubblegum, Fiona and Cake.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:29:27 UTC from web-
@theyurityphoon I should get some figures. *opens wallet, flies pop out* Curses.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:31:26 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal ;; if I didn't just spend all of my free-spending money, I'd have gotten you one.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:32:18 UTC from web-
@theyurityphoon Oh no, I couldn't accept a gift like that (you're too generous ^3^). Besides, if I end up spending a bunch of money on figures I'll probably kick myself for not buying some other thing.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:36:16 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal they were $8. Not like I spent a crap ton. XD I just got a smaller check this week since we got out early pretty much every day we worked. Otherwise I'd have been able to get more.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:38:56 UTC from web-
@theyurityphoon Well, the next time I get some money I'll probably put some aside for some kind of figure (my desk is kind of barren anyway). The only things that could potentially distract are Dark Souls 2 (which I've yet to buy) and possibly a few vinyl records (I've been getting back into analog recording).
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:42:55 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal not gonna spoil things but I heard that DS2's bosses were really disappointing compared to DS1.

@theyurityphoon Have you played the first Dark Souls?
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:46:01 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal all of about an hour's worth. Never got into it. Got frustrated after dying 20x. :X
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:47:00 UTC from web-
@theyurityphoon Well, Ceaseless Discharge is a boss later in the game who (until you use one of a few cheap tricks to beat him) is a total kiwiing pain. He's this giant lava monster thing that will knock you down regardless of your stability (I've used full Havel's and Wolf Ring to no avail) and he also has an infinite range fire attack for if you try to run away. But yeah, if you were dying and getting frustrated at the beginning, I'd hate to see you in some other points in the game (the above boss fight, the Ornstein and Smough boss fight, the Tomb of the Giants, etc)
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:50:40 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal I get frustrated easily. It's why I don't often play really competitive games like Haha and whatnot because I get stressed and stop enjoying it.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:51:41 UTC from web-
@theyurityphoon god damnit, I forgot I can't type LoL normally.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:52:08 UTC from web -
@theyurityphoon I know what you mean by that, and when I first started Dark Souls I died a lot, but there was something about it that was so incredibly addicting. I eventually just got better at it.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:54:17 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal I'm too much of a softy for most games any more. It kinda sucks but oh well
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:55:29 UTC from web-
@theyurityphoon I seldom play games these days. I dunno how I got so damn good at Dark Souls but I did. It was essentially all I played last summer.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:56:38 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal I don't play many games any more either. Last one I played was Arkham Asylum, which I'm oh so slowly progressing through.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:57:49 UTC from web-
@theyurityphoon Last one I finished was Virtue's Last Reward on my 3DS (which, by the way, was god damn stellar).
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:00:32 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal what's it about? I've never heard of it.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:04:44 UTC from web-
@theyurityphoon It's a sequel to 999 (my favourite DS game ever) and essentially revolves around these 9 people who are kidnapped and forced to play this game where they must solve puzzles and escape, but (without spoiling anything) the story descends into total mindbananas territory as the game progresses, and it becomes incredibly interesting.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:08:25 UTC from web -
@theyurityphoon So the gameplay essentially switches between "Escape" puzzle segments and adventure-esque visual novel sections.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:12:09 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal Huh. I may look into it then.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:13:30 UTC from web-
@theyurityphoon Play 999 (Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors) first if you can.

@northernnarwhal Oh man Kalameet. Kalameet will make you cry.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 06:57:58 UTC from web-
@nerthos His tail cut was a cherries. Also, Manus made me want to into a fetal position (that 8 hit combo is too brutal, and that humanity magic ;_;)

@northernnarwhal *go into
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:00:44 UTC from web -
@northernnarwhal Manus wasn't nearly as bad as Kalameet IMO. The hardest bosses for me were dragons.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:01:32 UTC from web-
@nerthos I didn't find Kalameet as tough as the other DLC bosses. His physical attacks were predictable and his fire breath had decent at best range. And even with that, I was rocking Black Iron Armour like a pimp, so I barely took any fire damage.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:03:30 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal Something about the dragon bosses is absolutely OP for my playstyle. I didn't have much trouble with other bosses that people seem to hate. Black Iron wasn't enough to soak the damage. I shiver to think what he'll be like in NG+ since the bridge drake was able to burn me alive in fully upgraded Black Iron.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:06:23 UTC from web-
@nerthos Fully upgraded Black Iron is still the best heavy armour for fire defense. And if you want a real challenge, try taking Kalameet down with a great bow (before you talk to gough). It's really difficult but awesome when you finally get it.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:10:25 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal I excel at exctruciatingly slow, kind of gameplay-abusing tactics like that one, but wanted to fight him one on one. I mostly used the greatbow to fight the hydras and similar enemies.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:12:35 UTC from web-
@nerthos papayas the hydras. Worst enemy for my caster character.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:13:40 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal The one in the underground lake was hilarious. You could take cover behind a log and shoot it safely.
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:17:07 UTC from web-
@nerthos And it could jump over the sand hill to the other side of the lake *majestic hydra jump*
Thursday, 27-Mar-14 07:19:02 UTC from web-
@northernnarwhal Not if you get cover just right. It'll shoot waterballs at you that will explode against the very edge of the log, indefinitely, while you shoot arrows at it.
