  1. TW: blood - AND MANLINESS!! So, three days ago I slammed my finger in the car door like a gorram dumbass. Obvioiusly; it bruised like hell and swole up. Multiple people (as in 2 people) mentioned drilling through the fingernail to relieve the pressure. So, figuring I had had more than enough of this crap, I decided to give it a try. Except, I don't have a fingernail drill. Instead, I grabbed a so-called "safety" pin, bent it to a right angle, took a few drinks of that good ol' liquid courage, and started to stab myself in the fingernail. It kinda worked - I got the pin through, bloods came out, I felt sufficiently self-doctoringy. But, the overall swelling didn't go down much. So now I'm just getting hammered and enjoying a cigar on the front porch. Eh, life goes on, or so I'm told. At least, thus far it seems to onward go.

    1. @scribus My father used to use a regular drill with a nail, like a steel nail for wood, attached at the tip to make a hole in the fingernail.

      1. @nerthos I thought about it, but the drill we have is battery powered and the batteries don't hold much of a charge. Safety pin seemed easier.

    2. @scribus You can also use a 1mm drill or a small file
