Bitlbee must be the only program that doesn't stick to one standard. Sometimes starting the sentence with a username will do nothing, another time it will make it a reply and the third time it will try to send a private message... It's funny, yet awful

@omni So you'd say it's awful, but fun?

@ceruleanspark Eeyup, I'm slightly masochistic (thought not really up to a sexual piont, so I should probably use another term but WHO CARES) :P

@omni I wasn't aware "masochistic" had sexual connotations. I always used it when talking about people who play Nethack.

@redenchilada As a person who plays Nethack, I am okay with this terminology.

@redenchilada Seems it depends on which source you use. Oh well~

@redenchilada There's a strong overlap.

@omni To send a message to a user, open a query window to that user and send it there. Problem solved :P *sneakysneaks back to bed*

@toksyuryel I'm not sure if that'll work the way I want it to, to be honest o,o
Monday, 21-May-12 18:55:22 UTC from api-
@omni It will for any IM service. For statusnet and twitter it won't work, but you really shouldn't be using it for those anyway; the support is very limited and not very good.

@toksyuryel Well, StatusNet is the only thing I have issues with. I've been using Bitlbee for my normal chat traffic for several months already :P

@omni I have been using it for years now hehe^^ I tried to use it for twitter before but it was just a mess.

@toksyuryel I see. Well, I would use Identicurse, but I really don't like the way it looks (the spacing and stuff), the fact that the screen flashes when there are new messages (almost makes me feel like I'm going blind) and just the fact that the controls are so different from irssi's controls :P Perhaps I could get used to Identicurse if I have some more time, but right now I don't feel like it :P

@toksyuryel Well, I'd have to work with "input mode" always being on and it using commands, so it would be like a complete redesign. Actually, I should consider grabbing his code and seeing if I can do anything myself, would be a nice way of practicing :P

@omni The flashing... I'm pretty sure there was a config option that could be coerced into helping with that one. The controls, though... that's pretty much a core part of IdentiCurse. Not the specific bindings, given they can all be rebound, but the input mode/"view" mode dichotomy is not going to go away, so if that's a dealbreaker, I'm afraid it's gonna stay a dealbreaker.

@bitshift Anything with a separate command and input mode I can get behind. vim-style ftw! :D
Monday, 21-May-12 19:06:35 UTC from web -
@bitshift And that's quite understandable, as it's obviously a lot of work to design that. That's why I don't want to bother you with that anyway :P
