    That, or he's a Democrat who decided that it'd be way easier to get elected as a joke than to get elected for real. When he tried to run in 2000, his stated views were very much aligned with the Democratic Party.

      @mrmattimation i had also heard that he donates to orginisations aligned more with the democratic party, so i had always sort of viewed his show as a very sly act of political sabotage.
