@augustus @zemichi tbh we have the community feeling even with politics. no family is without some differences between it's members
-
@dokidoki @augustus @zemichi I feel like I'm on decent terms with both hard left and hard right people on here, most of the people that refuse to interact with me (and that's totally OK by me) just have a normal intolerance for excessive levels of political bs or just know what they don't want to listen to. Nobody's rage blocked me, which is a million times better than other social media.

@moonman @augustus @pennyfortheguy @zemichi >on good terms with both sides

I think we create our own little communities around here. Not everyone is going to get along, and that's okay. I think it is important to be yourself, and other people can decide if that is something they want to associate with or not. As we grow with members, the more divides you will end up seeing. It's natural. People tend to gravitate towards those people that they are alike to.-
@sim @dokidoki @zemichi @augustus This is true. After all, there is nothing wrong with having your own niche you fit in with.
-
@dolus @zemichi @dokidoki @augustus
Pretty much. I like having my own niche around here. I don't usually bother with any idiots.-
@sim @dokidoki @zemichi @augustus Never understood the people who try so hard to fit in with everyone else, in most cases, it's easier to find people who you're already compatible with, personality-wise.
-
@dolus @augustus @zemichi @sim @dokidoki if you grew up in a certain Era, you were taught almost explicitly that you needed to get along with everyone or there was some kind of problem
-
@moonman @dokidoki @zemichi @sim @augustus True. But I think kids will pretty much always try to split up into their own little groups, because it's basically our tribnal instinct manifesting.

We do it naturally. You can't interact with everybody, that would be tiring... and you never find close meaningful relationships if you try to befriend everybody. You wouldn't have the time! It's better to create your standards, be open to casual conversations, but use more of your socialising time with those close friends you can open up to that are trustworthy. People that you can learn from, and grow with.
I think some people are leaders, others are followers and the rest go their own way... or they are a mixture depending on what the situation calls for and what they want to be. Some personality types will simply clash, I love me some controversial people... ;)-
@sim @moonman @zemichi @dokidoki @augustus @dolus It's true! We have a lot of massively brilliant people here.

@pennyfortheguy @zemichi @moonman @sim @dokidoki @augustus @dolus The only bad thing is the cherryposters. It's good when the only bad things are bananaposters, and @chen. At least we don't have any mentally vapid mouthbreathers.

@pennyfortheguy @moonman @zemichi @dokidoki @augustus @dolus
Yeah, I like quite a few people on here too. You're one of them.-

@sim @dokidoki @moonman @zemichi @augustus Honestly, the only thing I find odd about myself and the groups I integrate with, is how often I just sort of wander away from them and lose touch with the people. Dunno why I do this, I just lose the urge to keep it up for whatever reason. https://gs.smuglo.li/attachment/12109

@dolus @moonman @zemichi @dokidoki @augustus
Sometimes it just happens. I don't stick with people for that long too... maybe a few years if lucky. Did you have much in common with them to begin with? Did either of you just end up drifting away because your life got busy or you just didn't hang out often enough?
