why do I have to alt+backspace now??? backspace doesn't perform its own purpose

@tiffany It's ALT+LEFTARROW at my chrome install. I use the same in Firefox all the time. On a laptop keyboard it's reasonably comfortable type.

@adiwan I'm sure I'll get used to it to a point where it's preferable but for right now I'm mildly perturbed, which is the worst kind

@tiffany Either way, there is alway someone more in pain with a change and creates an extension to revert a feature change https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/back-to-backspace/cldokedgmomhbifmiiogjjkgffhcbaec

@adiwan I opened the link, thought "nah, I'll get used to it," and then tried to backspace out of it

@tiffany haha. I've always used ALT+LEFTARROW for ages and never used the backspace button anywhere. I've read some comments that it's either hated or a welcomed feature to remove the backpage function of the backspace. There are quite some people reporting that it messed so many times with writing texts and accidentally changed the page and losing all progress because of it.

@adiwan I've had that problem sometimes, though a lot of sites (the ones I care about) retain the text if you go forward so I guess I'm privileged
