  1. Okay, I can't figure out how to compile something for Windows and MAC. My QT project compiles perfectly under Linux, for Linux, but I have no clue how to get it to create Windows and MAC .exe and .dmg (I believe that's correct?) files :(

    1. @omni Mac apps are in .app files, DMG is just the awesome compression they use for app delivery.

      1. @cavatina Isn't .app an installer?

        1. @omni Mac doesnt use installers for the most part. Applications are self contained enough to just be ran anywhere, drag + drop is pretty much the install process for the majority of apps, some use app installers though where needed x3. I honestly miss that about mac, i kept all my apps on a USB drive ^.^

          1. @cavatina I see. Well, as long as I can just make an executable I'm happy, but I can't figure out what I need to properly cross-compile here, or how to do it.

        2. @omni the .app is very much like a .JAR from what i've seen...like, it is an archive that executes :3

    2. @omni You'd have to set up a cross compiling environment, which usually involves downloading the SDK for the related OS too and stuff. It's not fun, but worth it sometimes.

      1. @minti Do I need a complete SDK when I'm already using a cross-platform-compatible solution like QT with no external dependencies?

        1. @omni Not sure, hopefully not but, eh.
