@mushi I hate stereotyped italian accent, and the language itself doesn't appeal to me nearly as much as German or Japanese. But strangely enough, Italian is one of my favorite languages when sung

@crusader8 but german sounds disgusting and angry
-
@abigpony @mushi German spoken language is robust and full of energy. Yes it can be bombastic and harsh at times, but it's there's much more diversity to the german sound than k- and ch- sounds. (Also, not every dialect of German pronounces the ch- as harsh as WWII movies would suggest)

@crusader8 i've heard people speaking in german, it sounds like an even uglier version of english

@mushi I dunno, nothing embarrasses me more than Americans speaking English.and they're the self-proclaimed experts on the language, considering how much irrational immigration hatred there is. With all the people born here who can barely speak it, it's a wonder anyone else tries learning English as a second language.

@crusader8 the hell are you talking about? The poor grammar and whatnot? That's not every american you know.
-
@abigpony you must not get out enough. I'm not even talking about dialects (though they can cause migraines), but when you see a grown man pronounce crayon as "crown" and see him get upset that you can't understand him - uh, yeah. I'm not going to list every lingual atrocity I've had to endure. And the fact these people I meet believe they're speaking clearly and properly.

@crusader8 that sure sounds like an accent. I don't live in a state where i have to worry about that. I just have to deal with 60% of the people not even speaking english and then getting mad at me that I am.
-
@abigpony and that sounds like Northern VA, where I used to live. The signs all had to be in 3 languages - english, spanish, and chinese.

@crusader8 i know people who speak german. It's a very angry and crude language. Even they don't really like it. To eqch their own in terms of liking it, but it really is rather harsh.

@crusader8 well, i dont sing too much, and i think german is an ugly as hell language. English is hard to speak (but not to learn) and i'm studying japanese :3
