@omni The Jawbone "Up" is a life tracking wristband. It counts steps and calculates distance and things. It also tracks movement in sleep to measure sleep quality, times your alarm for when you're sleeping most lightly, that kind of thing. I used it religiously for a few months until it failed out, but the other day, having seen they'd updated the companion app, I decided to try and bring it back to life.

@ceruleanspark Huh, sounds interesting yet scary :x

@omni There's no GPS or transmitter hardware in it. It's just a 3 axis accelerometer attached to some flash memory, inside a wristband.

@ceruleanspark That sounda amazing
-
@noirbatch They took it off the market for a while due to horrendous build quality issues with the first batch, but they're coming back "soon" (Also all evidence of the original waves catastrophic failure has been expunged)
-
@ceruleanspark How much are they?
-
@noirbatch I think they're about $100, but thanks to some hilariously bad online ordering software, I got mine for free. (They sold out, cancelled my order, refunded me, then sent me one anyway)
-
@ceruleanspark Lucky you lol. Sounds real awesome though
