@thatonestocking What are you going to do on Game day?
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 08:36:08 UTC from web -
@thatonestocking MAn, we didn't have anything like that in my High school, at least not that I can remember. Last time we did was middle school. I had a lot of those kinds of classes that worked all year, even on the days before break and such.

@anarchycarcino @thatonestocking In my high school and middle school we did field trips the last day of classes to amusement parks, etc., but we weren't year round.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 08:43:20 UTC from web-
@pony Not year round? I haven't had a field trip since elementary.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 08:46:06 UTC from web-
@anarchycarcino we had short breaks for Easter and Christmas, and we got a day or two off for Thansgiving and other holidayts, but there was only 1 long break for summertime.

@pony Well yeah, that's like most schools. I've never met anyone who had year long school aside from my cousins.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 08:49:06 UTC from web-
@anarchycarcino more and more schools are switching to year round it seems. I'm guessing field trips are determined by the participation of the parents and the general wealth of the local population.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 08:50:49 UTC from web-
@pony Yeah, most likely. My friend went to Laguna high and they get a week off just because for no real reason.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 08:51:49 UTC from web-
@anarchycarcino well that's fun xD
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 08:52:32 UTC from web-
@pony No, it's silly. This is the worst place ever.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 08:53:07 UTC from web-
@anarchycarcino Standardized education is bleh in general, but I guess it's better than nothing. I'll be homeschooling my kids.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 09:08:35 UTC from web-
@pony I dunno, I guess I came out okay. Though I really can't say I learned anything worthwhile at school.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 09:09:27 UTC from web-
@anarchycarcino history.. who needs it?
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 09:21:46 UTC from web-
@pony Hey, you learn about one country/ruler screwing up, you learn them all.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 09:22:50 UTC from web-
@anarchycarcino yeah. and science pff~ Every kindergartener knows that's messed up. I mean light is totally not faster than heavy.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 09:26:00 UTC from web-
@pony Science isn't my strong point, since it ties into higher math classes.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 09:29:28 UTC from web-
@anarchycarcino oh math.. maybe some day I'll understand you fully. Matrices are scary to me.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 09:31:49 UTC from web-
@pony I learned everything practical, why should I care what the squareroot of 96x8^2 is and then do a proof on it is?
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 09:34:36 UTC from web-
@anarchycarcino That's a useful skill if you're hired by NASA to prove a satellite's construction is sound or a big company that needs to guarantee that a piece of software it's developed won't produce any erratic results, but for a normal Joe, proofs aren't a big deal.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 09:41:09 UTC from web-
@pony Exactly, I've no intention of working in any field that needs them.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 09:41:53 UTC from web-
@anarchycarcino on the other hand, mathematicians make bank because their skills are in high demand. I sometimes wish I had that kind of skill.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 09:45:23 UTC from web-
@pony I don't, and do not want to push myself into learning these silly and complicated numbers. I am happy being able to count to 6.
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 09:47:02 UTC from web-
@anarchycarcino only a foal would ask for more. ^^
Tuesday, 18-Dec-12 09:57:10 UTC from web-
@pony Yup.
