@rarity Cuuuuuute! :3

@kadziet try to type "cat /var/log/syslog" in a terminal....
-
@rarity cant unsee crotch boobs on that pic
-
@swissbronycrusader Terminal? Where do I find that? http://ur1.ca/d0unw
-
@kadziet ;3
-
@mushi where do you see those?
-
@kadziet oh, or better, look on: /var/log/kern.log its more information about crash
-
@kadziet Terminal is like bash, xterm etc. just run the command: terminal, then a terminal window comes up
-
@rarity ... where they are suposed to be. It looks like they are there on the thumbnail
-
@swissbronycrusader Huh? Uhh... I know nothing about Linux. And I know even less on where to find a terminal command. http://ur1.ca/d0upl
-
@mushi oh god
-
@kadziet oh, i see, hmm, do you know Team Viewer?
-
@swissbronycrusader Nope. I only have the basic stuff and the only thing I use is Firefox. http://ur1.ca/d0uqj
-
@kadziet ok, hmm, what Displaymanager you use? Gnome, KDE, fluxbox, i3...
-
@kadziet Can you search for a Program called: Log viewer? This is standard unter Gnome
-
@swissbronycrusader If it's Ubuntu, it'll be Gnome.
-
@scoot hmm, there is a point ;-) the others are kubuntu and such, your are right :-) I use debian Linux ;-)
-
@kadziet So then you will find the Log viewer on your Ubuntu :-) Start it
-
@swissbronycrusader I got it! Now what do I do? http://ur1.ca/d0urq
-
@kadziet On the left site, you got Xorg.0.log, auth.log, dpkg.log, mail.log and syslog. Got to syslog (open it)
-
@kadziet There is many text, however, with Ctrl + F you can search for errors, kernel panic, and so on, to find a the problem, (if there a log of it)
-
@swissbronycrusader Ok, and how do I search for them? http://ur1.ca/d0ut9
-
@kadziet is your ubuntu up-to-date? and since when you got thoes craches? and did you canched somthing before the craches starting?
-
@kadziet search for possible problem, hmm, however, when you not know what to look for, its hard to explane, hmm, do you know, how to install a program in ubuntu?
-
@swissbronycrusader I don't think it's up to date. And it's always been like this. As for installing? Uhh... I think I do. Ubuntu Software Center, right? http://ur1.ca/d0uu8
-
@kadziet I am not sure in Ubuntu, but its sounds right. how ever, its a good idee you get up-to-date, and maybe this can solve also the problem
-
@kadziet just make a automated update, you running it anyway from a USB stick, so no danger at all
-
@swissbronycrusader Update. Got it, but one problem. The Software Center overloads my laptop and it causes a crash. http://ur1.ca/d0uvu
-
@kadziet Oh, very interessting... so, its can be a over heating problem...
-
@kadziet is your Laptop hot?
-
@swissbronycrusader Nope. It's warm and pretty cool, but not hot. It's just some programs or websites just slow it down to a standstill. That's when I have to restart. If I scroll too far on google? The amount of loaded icons freezes everything. Same goes for DeviantArt. Too many things at once and it slows down completely. http://ur1.ca/d0uwy
-
@kadziet Can you see to the air intake and air out take of your laptop, is there maybe to much dust?
-
@swissbronycrusader Dust? Maybe. I actually haven't used it for awhile some time back. It was inactive for several months before I got Ubuntu on a stick. http://ur1.ca/d0uxc
-
@kadziet oh, ok, hmm, how old is your Ubuntu? maybe its somthing like the adobe flashplayer, or a memory problem... You can if you start the Laptop, also run a memory self test
-
Side question; what is wubildr.mbr
-
@kadziet Hmm, if you can install Time Viewer, I can connect remotly to your Desktop, and check the logs, for you...
-
-
@swissbronycrusader Uhh... sure, but if I disappear then you'll know my laptop crashed from the install. http://ur1.ca/d0uzr
-
@kadziet true ;-) I hope not its craches, this not a big software ;-) however, try it...
-
@swissbronycrusader I got it, but my laptop feels a lot slower now. Try it? Actually, how do I use it? http://ur1.ca/d0v1c
-
@kadziet great, the use is simle how ever there are 2 thins I need from you, and you soud send it direktly to my, not over the forum: This is Your ID and the Password showing in the Team Viewer...
-
@kadziet Use the RDN Mail system
-
@kadziet when I am connected, you will see anything what i do :-)
-
@swissbronycrusader I can't find it. It installed, but it's nowhere to be found. Ugh. http://ur1.ca/d0v46
-
@kadziet if you got the Ubuntu One, then go in the upper conner, and then use the text box, and start type Team Viewer, then you see it
-
@kadziet btw. dit you use the Ubuntu Build in Package Manager to install?
-
@swissbronycrusader Package Manager? Ubuntu Build? I just opened it with the Software Center and it installed... successfully. http://ur1.ca/d0v5i
-
@kadziet ok, this is it. How ever, is the program now running?
-
@kadziet Or do you got Gnome 3? then you find it somewhere unter the programs. there is also somthing where you can type in commands
-
@swissbronycrusader It's not running and I don't know where to find it. http://ur1.ca/d0v7b
-
@kadziet hmm, can you descripe me your desktop, how its look like?
-
@kadziet specaly where you find your programs, so I get a idee how to find it
-
@swissbronycrusader Bar to the left. Default background. LibreOffice stuff on the taskbar that's on the left. There's the Home button on the top left. I used that though, and found nothing. http://ur1.ca/d0v7w
-
@kadziet oh, get you... Ok, try press the "Alt" Key and the "F2" key at the same time, then a windows comes up, type in "Team Viewer"
-
@swissbronycrusader I found it, but it isn't starting up. http://ur1.ca/d0v91
-
@kadziet oh, hmm, strange, why its not starting up?
-
@kadziet there are a other way, however, you cant see what I do, and I am not sure, your firewall let me thou...
