  1. @mizuki I don't think things are nor will be too much different without Lauren there. The impression I've gotten from all the interviews and such that I've read is that the staff is really unified in ideals and goals for the series. The inconsistencies are more on the parts of episode writers, and those kinds of inconsistencies pervaded the first season as well, which is hardly surprising. I think this show has become increasingly ambitious over time, as the staff continues to recognize that they're not working on just "a kid's show" but "a really darn good cartoon," and want to keep living up to what they've done. I think that as time passes, everything in the show continues to matter more to them, just like it does to the fandom, which is why things happen like more attention to side characters and world-building.

  2. @mizuki haha yep, sounds like an outright inconsistency. It couldn't be helped though, since most of the show's world-building was being made up as the creators went along, so a lot of it is being retconned into the story. They probably had no idea Granny Smith would even get a more than 5-second speaking role in the show ever when they wrote Winter Wrap-Up.

  3. And now, for some Flutterguy karaoke. (I say karaoke but I'm just singing it myself this time.) http://digibrony.tumblr.com/post/17819682508/and-now-some-flutterguy-evil-enchantress-karaoke

  4. @mizuki (not that I'm doubting the inconsistency of this show's writing, just not sure which instance you're referring to)

  5. @mizuki inconsistent? how so?

  6. @mizuki I think I made the poor girl's lisp worse than it needed to be hehe. My throat is actually rapsy from singing a death-metal version of the same song just minutes before recording that >_< I might do a flutterguy evil enchantress karaoke now just to balance it out (and to show off LOL)

  10. @mizuki it's like the perfect place! Now I'm literally breaking out into so many wonders, I think it's karaoke time!

  11. @mizuki And I only joined yesterday! But I felt the exact same way. I got such a warm reception here, and it's really cool that this site isn't so social that it forgets to also be pony. So much better than spamming my facebook and twitter with pony stuff that my friends don't really care much about. I don't even need to spam RDN because everypony here already knows what I'm talking about!

  13. @mizuki People are quick to get on moral high horses and blind themselves to how their being. It's no different from crying that everyone who doesn't agree with you is "closed-minded," when in fact thinking that was is as closed-minded as it gets. But I don't mind closed-mindedness so much: moral superiority claims are what bother me. When someone thinks not just that those who don't agree with them are "closed-minded," but also that because of it, they must be terrible people.

  14. @rainbowcode I can't say which I prefer, but what I mean is that Rarity seems to be the most "animated" character. Her facial expressions and body movements are more... well, expressive, and movement-y. Partly it's because characters like Rainbow and Pinkie Pie, while active and with dramatic personalities, usually move in quick and violent ways, involving speed lines and fewer frames, while Rarity is also very dramatic, but moves with more subtlety, which takes more frames of animation to portray.

  15. @mizuki and when I say civil I don't mean you can't cuss or something fussy like that, but just as long as you aren't being mean-spirited and all, that would be civil.

  16. @mizuki well, snapping on you that you need to practice "love and tolerance" rather than voice your opinions isn't very tolerant or loving lol. As long as you can be civil in voicing complaints, we should be civil in hearing out and responding to them.

  17. @mizuki I'm somewhat interested in knowing what exactly are your complaints. I tried to look for them but I can't find anything in your archives XD

  18. I gotta do a post on how Rarity seems to be the best-animated character in the show as soon as I confirm that this is a true statement. Either the animators outright favor her, or it's one more layer of character development, making her the technically best-looking pony. (She also gets the most outfits but that's a given).

  19. @supercammy that's the first time I've even heard of Gambia! Congrats on getting a Mountain Dew, and be glad you can't have it regularly because it's addicting! I drink between six and ten cans a day, and if I don't have one for more than a day I *freak out.*

  20. @mizuki it's not a matter really of whether anyone cares, but more of whether they'd be entertained, or whether you'd be offering something they can't get elsewhere. Personally, I'm feeling "musings" in high demand, because thus far I've found almost *only* art content in this fandom. I haven't found a single site dedicated to analysis and general opinions on things regarding MLP. I didn't even know about this shortage when I started my own site as an analytical one, but now I'm starting to wonder both if I'm the first to do it, and also if there's any demand for one to exist beyond my own. If there's not, maybe my site will create it? God I love this 1000 character limit I can just keep typing my entire thought!

  22. @mizuki not that there's anything wrong with running that sort of tumblr!

  23. @mizuki thanks for the follow! I'd reciprocate but honestly, your update rate is really daunting. If I did, your tumblr alone would literally make up 90% of my tumblr feed. I generally try to avoid following tumblrs that update a lot/do a lot of reblogs/aren't single-topic-focused.

  27. Actually my username doesn't show my love of word mashups, because it looks like it just means "digi brony." In fact, my username had been "digitalboy" for five years until I decided I was too old to be calling myself a boy, so I changed it to Digibro, as I'd been nicknamed by some friends. It just happened that a month later I got into My Little Pony and the portmanteau was irresistible.

  28. @mizuki LOL. Googling the phrase brings up first their blog then you're tumblr, so at least there's only two of you! Or something. Ponytalia is pretty catchy though. (I'm a fan of word mashups as my username shows.)
