@ceruleanspark I don't live in the same neighborhood where it occurred (it's near downtown btw, so it's more rural as well) but it's always good to have caution. I run a very well rounded security set, the basic windows firewall, avast (the free version), spybot, and malwarebyte's anti-malware and I also do scans every day from 6 PM-7 PM. And I'm not sure, when it comes to viral backdoors.

@ceruleanspark A recent event happened in my uncle's neighborhood and some guy hacked into the neighborhood and gained control of alot of computers in the area. I'm suddenly scared, now. All a hacker needs to do (provided that the computer has a password set at the login screen) to gain access is to crack the password. How difficult (I'm accounting programs as well) is a +12 character password (using special symbols, numbers, and both uppercase/lowercase characters) to crack? Any precautions I can take?

@gangstashy Good. Filled out alot of job applications (like 12 or so) and so it's just a waiting game. If I don't get anything within a week, I can always try again later and reapply. My hopes are high though.

When I get a tablet, I honestly don't know about setting up commission fees for drawings. While I'm naturally a generous person and would love to draw for people for free, I want to put some money in my pockets at the same time. Yet, I don't want to look like a greedy money-bags either.

@pinhooves Pinhooves is right, it takes practice to get better. I've been drawing for a long time (since I was 11 or 12)) and I'm getting rusty so I'm investing in a drawing tablet soon. Speaking of such, I like to say something.

@scribus Electricity wise, the only thing I couldn't do without would be my computer and my surround sound system. A TV/gaming console is different, I could just hook it up to a power outlet and the power after I'm done. I'm abandoning cable anyway, but keeping the highspeed internet I had a while ago...which I want back. I've also noticed our generation (and I'm talking about the majority of our parents as well) have taken the way we live for granted, and it's good to have some survival/DIY skills in case of a power outage or 'something' ever happens.

@scribus Hmm, never heard of it. I'm also trying to wean myself off of so much electricity usage and looking into DIY projects, specifically for a diy off-grid/manual washer machine. I already found a few, one that's very hard to top too.
