@metaltao Such programs would be a much better investment than a bloated military-bureaucratic apparatus, funding illegal spying on citizens, crony capitalism, etc.

@metaltao Indeed. These private space companies are lagging far behind what was being accomplished by government agencies in the 1950's and 1960's (Sputnik, 1969 moon landing, etc.). They are belatedly mooching off of government programs. There was no immediate profit to be made by going into space; it isn't am accident that governmental organizations pioneered space travel.

@metaltao I don't care for these private companies. Let's properly fund NASA and get things done the right way.

@awolditzy Indeed. Not to mention I could branch off and get into high pressure boilers and steam turbines by taking a few classes at a different college (most of my graduating class won't have a boiler license to upgrade like I do).

@awolditzy I'll see what happens. Relocating isn't a major issue, as I am now on a month-to-month lease. It isn't ruled out that things got gummed up when things got sent to the red tape...er...I mean...HR department. Maybe I will try calling later this week.

@awolditzy That seems to be the case based on what I have heard. I talked to the instructor I had last year, and he said that things can pick up in May. Perhaps I will try to badger that place where I interviewed again, as they can apparently get too busy to bother with calls at times.

@awolditzy I am guessing that most places are going to prefer experienced technicians that got laid off from another shop during the "slow" time of the year. Or people they know. It was rather irritating to go on a long drive to an interview not too long ago, only for the place to never call me back like they said they would (I was told they would let me know either way).

I haven't had much luck with HVAC jobs so far. Seems like it is time to literally apply at dozens of places and hope something works.

@awolditzy Where would the most heated dispute be? Would it pertain to the territory after such a thing would be named? Or would it come from Diane Feinstein's temper tantrum after hearing about a "high capacity" magazine being used?
