But I can't do anything against these topics in RP now, it's canon for the ponyverse! Sooner rather than later, I'll probably drop ponyRP. || However, it influences general fanart as well. There was already some skew towards exploring darker themes and saucier themes in fanart, as the motivation for it was often ,"What if...?" Or "If this weren't limited by the rating, this would happen!" That's fine, but with more canon elements being darker, fanwork gets even heavier and more violent still, as if to comphensate. Now, I often find myself unwilling to try a new artist's comic, or to view the new fan animation, or to read the new fanfic. After all, the last 5 were unhappy\/violent. Why would this one be different?"}
