While I understand that it isn't reasonable at all to think that all would be able to overcome instinct, we as a whole race aren't at all slaves to instinct, albeit prone to following it we aren't slaves. Perhaps the food idea isn't that viable as a universal option but you can't deny that burying a body is wasteful in certain circumstances. So to clarify, a 5-10 thousand dollars worth of goods and services that actually visibly last a few days (quality and frills mean nothing after its in the ground) is small enough of an expense in this day and age to be ignored?
