I like to fold the thread I use during the velvet stitch in half before threading it doubled through my needle, and then I place the eye of the needle in the center of the doubled thread.  Then when I stitch I use 4 threads per stitch instead of 1, and it makes the embroidery much more full and go much more quickly."}
