My partner is looking for a Linux distribution which falls under the following: 1. Works out-of-the box; 2. Uses the default MATE desktop environment (or possibly GNOME2, but neither MATE nor GNOME2 should be heavily themed. AKA: No Linux Mint) or makes it easy to install it; 3. Have access to lots of software in the repository, both free and proprietary; 4. Is not Ubuntu. Does anyone have any recommendations?"}
