I live in a spread-out city, though, so nodes aren't going to be very close together here for a while, unless maybe I move closer to the university.  Has anyone perfected the process of making a directional WiFi signal that can transmit between two houses?  If I could get a range of like a mile, I might be able to get a few friends on a mini-mesh, though it might not be worth the expense right away."}
