Of course, it is less free than the BSD licenses are, and I won't lie about that, but the GPL does a good job at &quot;infecting&quot; software to force it to be opened it. I know, it's far from &quot;friendly&quot;, but it's a counter against proprietary software trying to effectively locking us out of their products by forcing them to release their products in such a way that we can enable ourselves to use it as well, even if they try to lock us out. Yes, the GPL infects software, but I personally don't consider it something bad, as I believe the results of it are good."}
