Apparently, you did it right, though, or you wouldn't be here talking about it. ;) When I was with my folks last week, we actually got looking at old pictures, and talking about when there were stretches of cold like that. The furthest north I remember us ever going is Denali National Park, though. Most of the time, we were around Anchorage. I hope that you aren't getting stationed too far north, there. As for the auroras, my memories of them back then are dim, sadly. I was only four or five at the time. My recollections of the ones when I was in northern Wisconsin are much more clear, even if they weren't nearly so frequent. Very, very pretty. :)"}
