As long as XP supports the hardware, IMO it's the best option. XP has no serious security issues, proven by experience by using it for almost a year without an antivirus, spending lots of time on 4chan and places linked from there, downloading torrents and all that. I still use it if I can, and if I can't, I use win7. I don't see Linux as an option since more than half the software I always used\/use regularly is Windows only, and I don't need any of the options that Linux offers that are not offered by Windows too."}
