If he gets the faculty involved instead, the kids picking on him - and all their pals - start getting reputation as trouble-starters. That gives him more footing if they try something again. A kid can ignore psychological torture of that form if they try hard enough, but tarnish their reputation and they're left with nothing. That's how I got through the 9th grade, anyway."}
