There's one scene in the 2011 episode "Road to the Pilot" where they travel five years into the future. The animation during this sequence is entirely CGI, and during the sequence, Peter enters the room and says "So Chris, I heard you got a D on your report card. Here's a cutaway." They know how lazy the show has gotten (although I think they're disillusioned by how "good" the animation is) and yet they continue on this path."}
