That being said, being a massive sci-fi fan I'm well aware that the genre has a habit of letting characters, themes, and sometimes even central narratives all slip in favour of world-building pretensions and minor details. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, just that when examined holistically the story doesn't have an awful lot of meat to it, it's a just a decent sci-fi action story with a developed world."}
