Wash's death was reflective of the fact that thematically Serenity is a story entirely about loss, and so his death was meant to articulate that. And it did, and it did drive the characters and narrative, but not in a way that felt entirely impactful for me. I feel like it would've helped if he died earlier in the film so we'd have more time to spend with the characters onscreen coping.<\/span>"}
