Besides boosting a stat, some magic has a special affect with atk\/defense. When it comes to junctioning magic to defense, you usually gain a bonus of being safeguarded to a certain extent from that magic\/status; depending on how much of that magic you have stocked. Atk is the other way around, junctioning magic to atk can add elemental damage or a chance of a status affect being inflicted when you attack. For the affects of junctioning magic to atk\/defense, this only applies to status\/elemental magic such as Doom or Fira."}
