I bought the horse asset and it came with a controller that handles all animation states and inverse kinematics for keeping the hooves on the ground and correct leg poses. It had a function to give the horse a direction to turn and move to and used that. I thought it was "natural" for inputing the direction with WASD and the horse follows that direction. A friend of mine had also problems with that and prefers a GTA1 style of "tank" control, from the perspective of the horse itself."}
