It uses an array of UV LEDs that shines through an LCD that masks the areas that exposes the UV-curing resin. That is below the resin VAT that has a very sturdy, slightly flexible and transparent bottom. The actual model that is 3D-printed is attached to a parallel platform that moves up (and down) such that the exposed resin is at the defined layer height. Sadly it's not that cool-looking. It needs about an hour of print time until the printed model can be seen while printing. It's also a source of my anger as a failed print takes that time to be detected."}
