You could use an auto-refresher for IE, but I don't think that's a good idea unless you really hate clicking or hitting F5.  If you can get Chrome or Firefox those are your best bets, but I understand that's up to your sister since it's her computer. :P  Well.. Sorry I couldn't be much help..
