Yeah sometimes a journal is that way. I used to get caught up on reporting life events and philosophizing in my journals all the time. What I valued most was when I left all of that aside and poured out how I was feeling without much regard for the context. Just acknowledging how I felt was a huge relief sometimes, regardless of how or why.
