Season one has some technical errors (Most of which I can't even see until someone else points it out.) and arguably didn't get to develop characters as much as they did in Season 2. Depth is nice, but I found almost all of the lessened emphasis on personal flaws and ponies being jerks to be part of a nicer, friendlier world I enjoyed escaping into. It was light, kind, and really only ever made glancing references to darker sides of life (Often buried in pretense of song). Season 2 has made character flaws that were only barely hinted at in Season 1 entire foci of multiple episodes. Pinkie's been disconnected before, but never seemed to be intentionally making others miserable or being more ignorant of the feelings of others than a brick wall ( Luna Eclipsed) and Twilight was more a socially awkward snarker than a pony trapped in logic loops (Lesson Zero, It's About Time). I'm not sure I want these ponies.
