For example, Rarity's talent is locating gems but her profession she strives to succeed in is completely unrelated. Pinkie Pie supposedly sells pastries or something as seen in a few episodes, Rainbow Dash's speed helps her work but is still independent of her career, etc. I like that your oc faces a realistic challenge which we can relate to, but I don't think it supports being a blank flank very well. Perhaps she should have a Patch Adams-like talent or be able to provide tremendous first aid with limited supplies. Her cutiemark could be a red heart with a bandaid on it, for example.
